There has been rumors pertaining to the camels and the World Health Organization (WHO) has, in fact, discouraged the consumption of its products due to the suspicious nature especially of its urine.

Traditionally, the camel's urine has been known to be used exclusively or together with camel's milk to cure a range of illnesses. The camel's urine has a high content of sodium, proteins and potassium and is consumed with camel's milk to make it more palateable.
The camel's urine has been used primarily to cure skin diseases such as ringworms, tinea, abscesses, chronic acne, sores on the body, dry and wet ulcers. It is also used on the hair to remedy hair loss, dandruff and other scalp-related issues. Its usage on the hair has led to more lustrous and lighter hair. Its anti-bacterial properties makes it a good alternative treatment of advanced stage cancer and hepatitis. Quite recently, it has been said to have cured diabetes.
The camel's urine has also been known to provide remedy for stomach, intestines and liver related ailments. It is also known to strengthen children's bones and heart muscles. It is the cure for asthma and shortness of breath. There has been an ongoing research to ascertain its best function despite the controversy.
The camel's milk, on the other hand, contains unique immune properties known to be most effective to cure viral and bacterial related infections. More information regarding this is provided on
Unique Medicinal Properties of Camel Products (Science Direct Journal, pg 98 -103 , Volume 11 Issue 2, April 2016).Â
In conclusion, the consumption of raw camel's milk and urine has been discouraged due to the discovery of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). It is now our choice to be discerning on its relevant usage.Â
